.357mag revolver for defense/being out in the woods.
« on: January 13, 2022, 06:53:54 PM »
Hi everyone. So I'm looking for recommendations for a .357 magnum revolver for defense/being out in the woods. I'd prefer one with a 4in to 6in barrel and not single action(like a 1873). Any help would be great. I was looking at the GP100 but wasn't sure.

Ruger lcrx with 3” bbl
S&w 686 4”-6” bbl
S&w  66 3” bbl
Ruger gp100
Glock 29

.. I know he said 4”-6”.   3” = #1
Also Glock #1

Another vote for S&W 686.  It holds 7 rounds.  Good weight to help with .357 recoil.

+1 for s&w 686+   Great balance with the full lug barrel, and  they have the best factory trigger out of the box compared to all others

Just remember here in Connecticut we can not go onto state or federal forests / woods with firearms.
The greatest Danger to American freedom is a government that ignores the Constitution.

You can shoot my GP100, if up this way. 6"

BTW, my .357 Magnum ammo costs much less than $1 a round, too.

The 2020 Python can be had for $1500 , if you search .
If you don’t wanna spend the money , I’d stick with your choice of a GP100.

If you're defending yourself against the two legged types why not stick with a 9?
