Thank you everyone.  Been through this a few times and yes it never gets easier. 
I don't know if you believe in signs. 
Ein's bed (which was originally Reno's) is behind my PC chair. The day I took Ein to the vet, I left his collar on the bed.
Yesterday morning I came downstairs to find Ein's and Reno's cones lying on the bed and collar. Most likely those cones just slipped off the pile of stuff they were on.
But rather I going to believe that it is a sign from them telling us they are together. This makes me feel so much better.

Sorry to hear.  We just put our 15 year dog down 2 weeks ago.  Yes I do believe in signs.  My dog used to sit next to me on couch, the first night she was gone I was walking into living room and thinking about how much I missed her and just then my phone lit up with a text message from a friend .. phone was in same spot she laid in for all those years.  Also was at Starbucks grabbing coffee for long ride home 3 days after she was gone and I was thinking about her and the cashier ringing the guy out in front of me announced the guys total as $11.11 at the same time I was thinking of her which is a sign from the other side according to many people.  Numerous times swore I saw her in corner of my eye.  This is very common in the few days after a person or close pet passes,  it could be just our minds trying to cope with the loss or it could be them visiting us and letting us know they are fine before their spirit goes to final destination. 

The whole experience got me reading a bunch of stories about kids recollecting previous lives with great detail and I do believe there is something else after this .
