Suppressed 9mm rifle loads (blowback)?
« on: November 22, 2022, 04:21:25 PM »
What works for you sophisticated shooters that have all of these fancy toys?
Heavy bullets around 850 fps?
What functions reliably in a blowback action (sorry, I don't know what this guy has for hardware)?
Coated bullets are okay for cans? Not cast, I understand?
Thanks for any insights...

147gr RMR FMJ small pistol primer (CCI, Unis Ginex) and 3.8gr HP-38 gets me approx 969 fps from a 16" Ruger PC Carbine.

Blowbacks arent all that quiet with a can. Lots of port pop.

Not 9mm but for others considering a suppressed PCC, I went with a suppressed 45acp PCC (B&T APC 45 PRO with a GSL Cobra-45 permed on). Reason being if we're stuck with 10 rounds max why not make them 45, also almost all factory 45acp is subsonic unless you go lighter than normal 230gr bullets.

Super happy with it, like a laser.

Okay, thanks. We'll work up something and see what happens.

A lot depends on the barrel length.  147 grain can be subsonic but the regular 147 gr rounds a slightly supersonic.    On my suppressed 9mm carbine I run a 4 1/2 inch barrel.  My reloads are plated 147 over 3.2 gn of titegroup.  There is port noise but it isn't noticeable except to the shooter.
