Hi,

How long did it take you to obtain your pistol permit in CT?  Is the average time 8, 10, 12 weeks or longer?

Just curious, waiting for mine.   My check has been cashed and Im waiting patiently, well, not really....

with the way things are now and how they may go, the EARLIEST you will see it is 8 weeks.  It also depends on location (Greenwich Vs. Bridgeport/Hartford had a big difference even before recent events).

Ok, sent my in from Morris, CT the week before Thanksgiving.  No letters, just app, fingerprints from Middletown and two checks.  We have a first selectman here an state police, no town police.

Bpt was 10-12 weeks when the backlog existed at dps.
Stamford 5-10 weeks.  Westport... 6 months.

There are to many variables between departments and even within departments to give you any good answer. Now with the big rush from everyone I am sure it will take even longer but here is what I have heard from my students recently.
Windsor 5-10 days (that's right DAYS)
Newington Just had a 6 week but not to long ago heard about 12 weeks
Bridgeport 6 weeks (this was reported to me in December, I was kind of surprised)
Plainville 8 weeks or less
Berlin 8 weeks or less
Waterbury 8-12 weeks
Bristol 8-12 weeks
Southington 12 weeks

One question I have is how do I follow up to make sure everything is going through, I want to eliminate any wasted time here....
