Microsoft Edge
« on: June 29, 2020, 07:53:03 AM »
Is there issues with the new Microsoft Edge? I'm not able to get on sites without my computer running slow and was going to update it to the Edge.

I used to use FF but it has gotten very slow (literally half the speed of Chrome) and I switched to Chrome despite wanting to avoid it due to Google. I would not use Edge, just another MS product that probably sucks, try Chrome. If your pc is old maybe it is time to get a modern machine? Are you getting the speed you are paying for? https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ Older router that need to be replaced?

I'm not a computer geek, but I've been using Brave as my browser over the past few weeks. I noticed that MS Edge has popped up on my computer, but I have not used it, unless it's doing its thing covertly.

I've been using Brave for a few years now. Created by Brendan Eich (created the first versions of JavaScript, Netscape, and Mozilla, amongst others thing), this browser kicks AdTech in the nuts and returns value to content producers (who have been raped by AdTech). Integrated cryptocurrency mining through just daily use (B.A.T. token, which is now traded on Gemini). Integrated TOR client. Blocks ads and tracking to the point where the industry has to write more code to try and entice users to turn off all the blocking (futile).

In the past haven't notice to many problems with Edge. Normally use FireFox. Windows 10 did do some sort of update to Edge recently and haven't noticed any major issue in the few times I've used it. (Shrugs). Have Brave installed as well (Chrome too) but rarely use either of those to browsers.

On home pc, don't have Edge or Chrome just Firefox, the ad blocker is working alright so far.
Work unit uses Chrome for internet and Edge for the intranet. Why, its what IT setup for us.
Brave sounds interesting, guess I'll take a look at. If I download, hope its a seamless install.

The new Edge has been forced and is being forced onto all Windows 10 PC's as we speak. Started about 3 weeks ago.
I see tons of problems at clients with it (and the update itself).

I remove the shortcut from everyone's desktop and taskbar and put Internet Explorer back on if they want it.

To get IE back, just click the search bar on the bottom left of your screen, and type 'INTER', don't press enter.
When you see Internet Explorer come up on your search results (live), right click the Internet Explorer Icon and select
'Pin to taskbar' and or 'Pin to startup'.

Brave is good, I use it sometimes and BAT is traded on almost all large exchanges (Made a killing the past 3 weeks, up almost 50%)  ;D
But for clients I just recommend Google Chrome.

Pretty sure Edge is being added during a W10 update. I never had it, I would never want it, yet there it is!
